According to the Swiss Federal Statistical Office, hotels across Switzerland recorded nearly 44 million overnight stays, marking the third consecutive record year for national tourism, a clear sign that travelers can’t resist Switzerland’s charm.

International tourism flourished in 2025, with foreign visitors accounting for 22.7 million overnight stays, up 3.2% from 2024.
- Europe led the way with 12.7 million stays, mainly from Germany, France, and the UK travelers drawn by scenic train rides, hiking trails, and vibrant city breaks.
- Guests from the Americas reached a new record of 4.8 million overnight stays, a 5.9% increase, showing growing interest from the U.S. and Canada.
- Asia remained strong and steady with 4.4 million overnights, while Oceania and Africa also saw notable growth.

Ten of the country’s thirteen tourism regions saw growth compared to 2024, and seven regions, including Zurich, reached their highest demand in more than three decades.
